aThis is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pure Protein. All opinions are my own. Today I’m sharing a Super easy orange creamsicle protein shake recipe! Only 3 ingredients needed for a delicious post-run recovery smoothie.
Hello! How’s it going? I’m working with Pure Protein to share a delicious recipe and a big contest they’re hosting!
First, let’s talk about this smoothie…
I’m all about having a smoothie after a long run because I’m more thirsty than hungry. I’ve gotten a lot of reader comments and emails about this actually and wanted to share a good example of something to refuel your body during training.
It’s important to eat within 60 minutes of finishing a hard workout to give your body the nutrition it needs to rebuild and recover. But, if you’re not hungry – what do you do?
I vote have a smoothie with protein. This is a great way to keep it light, quench your thirst and get in some good nutrition. Boom. Nailed it.
This Orange Creamsicle smoothie only requires 3 ingredients (4 if you count the ice). It’s so easy, but super delicious. And the Pure Protein powder in vanilla cream has 25 grams of protein and is soy and gluten free.
Orange Creamsicle Protein Shake
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop Pure Protein Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup orange juice
- ice
Blend in a blender 2x as long as you usually blend shakes. <- I learned this lil tip years ago and swear by it – blend extra long for a big, creamy smoothie! Aaaand enjoy!
My friends at Pure Protein also sent me a ton of protein bars that I’ve been enjoying. I’m not usually a coconut girl, but the Dark Chocolate Coconut is tied for my favorite with the Chocolate Salted Caramel.
Want info on the contest? Visit www.pureprotein.com or http://ift.tt/2jBF6VV for more information, to enter and view the videos featuring Adam Rosante. He’s posting a new workout video each week so if you’re in the market to change up your sweat sessions – check it out.
Question: Do you notice your hunger levels are a little ‘off’ after a hard workout or long run?
How do you refuel within an hour of working out or running?
