Hello! I made a super easy green smoothie today that only requires 3 ingredients. Plus, they are all ingredients everyone will recognize so you don’t need to hit up the farmer’s market in Peru for organic chia-spirulina-goji-berry powder grown on a mountain side and fertilized by baby goats.
I’m a fan of simple smoothies with a handful of spinach to add some extra vitamins. Plus this recipe doesn’t require protein powder since I used nonfat a2 Milk®, which has 11 grams of protein per serving.
I’ve made green smoothies in the past with a non-dairy milk option, but the thing about that is they don’t have a lot of protein. a2 Milk® contains approximately 6x the amount of calcium as soy beverages, approximately 8x the protein of almond beverages.
Super Easy Green Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients: 1 ripe banana, 1 cup milk, BIG handful spinach, ice.
Blend. Drink. Repeat.
Optional: Add flax seed, peanut butter or chia seeds for extra protein and fiber.
Why is it called a2 Milk®? Originally, all milk contained only the A2 protein. Over time a genetic mutation occurred in cows and a new type of protein developed called A1. This A1 protein causes digestive discomfort and is in all cows’ milk in-stores today, even organic milk. a2 Milk® only contains the A2 protein and is often okay for people that usually have stomach issues with regular milk.

Question: When was the last time you had a smoothie?
Me: This morning.
