I’m going back to basics with this healthy breakfast recipe. I like to keep it fairly simple with breakfast, anyone else? Give me something filling and quick so I can eat now, thanks.
I am a volume eater so adding apples to the oats bulks up the bowl and keep me full till lunch. And using nonfat nonfat a2 Milk® adds 11 grams of protein per serving. Protein + Fiber = a super satisfying and filling meal!!
Creamy Apple Oatmeal Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup chopped apple
- 3/4 cup a2 Milk®
- dash: salt, cinnamon
- sugar or stevia to taste
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan. Bring to a simmer and cook until thick and apples are soft. Top with nuts or nut butter (whatever floats your boat).
The apples add a perfect sweetness and chew to the dish. The milk makes it creamy and adds protein to keep you full. a2 Milk® contains approx. 6x the amount of calcium as soy beverages, approx. 8x the protein of almond beverages and approx. 6x the potassium levels of rice beverages.
a2 Milk® contains only the a2 protein and may be okay for people with ‘self diagnosed’ lactose issues.
I add a ton of cinnamon, if you love the stuff add extra too. Cinnamon is technically optional, but so delicious and has inflammatory properties too.
Enjoy!
