Hello! How was your weekend? Are you bummed the Olympics are over? I am.
I watched the men’s marathon this morning. I was so into it! I stood cheering right in front of the TV for a lot of it.
Then, my big kickstarter / random / strongly worded email to NBC idea is
ALL MARATHONS SHOULD BE TELEVISED.
If that’s not realistic I’d settle for the bigger ones.
My argument for why marathons should be on TV:
– They are super inspirational
– It’s hard to watch marathons in person because runners are covering 26.2 miles! You pick one or two places to see them for a second and that’s it.
– Sometimes out of town/state/country friends are running races you can’t attend
– I actually don’t like when people come watch me in races so this way my mom can see me on the telly (I said that in a British accent)
– I can replay parts of it to see my one friend run if I was busy looking at Instagram when they run by
– um, I feel like you can chime in here to support my idea? I’m all out.
So, this morning I was watching the marathon in Rio. Saturday morning I was running 12 miles in SoCal. It is still pretty hot here so I got an early start. It was a pretty good run.
And I want to share with you some info on this new workout gear from Run Janji.
I first heard about the company a few years ago. They contacted me and I immediately knew I wanted to work with them. Part of their sales go to helping provide clean water to people in various parts of the world. I learned in college that there are people in the world that don’t have water. There are people that have to drink dirty or contaminated water. Or some have to walk miles and miles each day to fill a bucket with water that will be for drinking, cooking and cleaning.
I love that Janji gives back. Their website has info on how they’re helping with pictures too. It’s very awesome.
The company sent me a super soft comfy tank and capris. Each piece helps provide water to people around the world (these pieces supported Ethiopia and Guatemala).
(Zig Zebra Tank / Asana Zona Capris )
If you’re in the market for new gear, this is a great company and great cause.
In food news… we are kinda trying to paint the kitchen and it’s a disaster. I’m very messy. It’s one of my many flaws (that I’m not working on because I am all about self acceptance).
Anyway. Everything is out of the kitchen and on the floor around the living room. It looks like an episode of Hoarders.
So I had to do yoga around the boxes this morning. But at least I didn’t skip it!
And I grabbed take-out for breakfast because of the kitchen mess. Sure I could have had cereal, but I’m not about that life on Sundays.
And here is my most impressive life hack for you…
When your chips are almost empty…
fold down the sides or just cut the bag so the chips are easily accessible. Boom.
I actually don’t think this is a very impressive life hack, but I did this in front of a friend recently and they were so impressed. I thought they were patronizing me! Ha!!
Question: Will you sign my petition to have all marathons televised?
