Hello! I am at a zoo. There are so many animals here in Florida it’s like a whole new world. First there’s the usual animals… Ben’s family has several dogs and a cat. And a neighbor dog that comes over to hang out for a few hours each day. It’s funny and random.
This is Bear. He is seriously the cutest dog. But he probably wouldn’t score super high on the dog IQ test. After I took this picture he barked at my phone because it freaked him out.
Barney looks like a homeless dog. They got him from the shelter about two years ago. He is smart, but again looks a little like a rata.
I love Miller from next door because he’s sooooo big and always carries around a stuffed animal.
He and Bear are best friends. And that’s Rufus in the bottom right corner. He’s afraid of storms and thunder, which means he was not made to live in Florida kinda like me.
George is an orange cat that’s probably twice as big as Vegas! I love big cats and I cannot lie. He and Bear are friends, but the other dogs just wanna catch him.
And finally, I got a new pet today! I took a walk in the rain and found a teeny tiny frog. He’s so small I thought it was a bug at first! There were a bunch of them jumping across the sidewalk. I shall name him Francis the frog.
Just in case he was a Prince…
In food news, I am happy Ben’s fam doesn’t really judge me (to my face) about my particular food habits. If I was only here a day or two I would just eat what they eat (read about this in my Integrative Nutrition book and want to elaborate soon). But since I’m always out here for a week or more I go to the store and buy a bunch of stuff.
Along with this, I was asked to share how I cook vegetables.
I roasted brussel sprouts for them on a previous visit. And this time I sautéed green beans kind of like I make green bean fries. They are trying to get healthier and I’m happy to have my nose brain picked.
Truthfully, I am way to self involved to judge what other people eat (which is good if you wanna be my friend and eat hot Cheetos all day, do you) but I do like it when someone asks me questions about healthy eating since I love talking about it!
This morning my run was rough. I am so not used to humidity! I did 10 miles with some walk breaks.
And since I don’t have spray sunblock I had to spread lotion sunblock in the part of my hair. Fancy.
I do love the views though!
Question: What’s your favorite vegetable and how do you prepare it?
I need some new ideas!
